The Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) does not restrict eligibility based on a specific list of occupations. As long as you meet the selection criteria established by Immigration Quebec, you may qualify regardless of your profession or area of expertise.
Unlike other Canadian immigration pathways, the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) is
different and follows a two-step process:
1. First, you must apply to Immigration Quebec to obtain a Quebec Selection Certificate,
also known as Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ).
2. Once you receive the CSQ, you can then apply to the federal government for a permanent
residence visa.
The Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) does not require a valid job offer from a Canadian or Quebec employer. Instead, it selects candidates for permanent residence based on their potential to become economically established in Quebec and their intention to live in the province.
The program uses selection criteria that reflect Quebec’s unique cultural and social values.
Applicants can include their spouse or common-law partner and dependent children in their application. In fact, the QSWP awards additional points to candidates with families, particularly those with young children.
